Tools of the trade

Sorry I've not blogged for a while but I'm going to try and get back into it and I thought I'd start with some things. I've found useful.

As most of you will now know I've lost a total of 16.5 lb which gained me on Monday my second silver seven award and my 5% body weight loss. I'm really pleased as I've only been to the meetings now four times and this was my target for the health trainers after 6 weeks.

I haven't bought much of the weight watchers things available but the thing I couldn't do without is the calculators this is so useful to work out your points in anything you buy.
It's easy to use and uses the quantities on the sides of packets to work out the points per serve/packet.

The other thing I've used is the eating out guide I was amazed at the points in certain curries and shop bought sandwiches

These are something I would recommend anyone starting weight watchers to buy and at £20 for both it's only the cost of a take away

Week 2 weigh in

It's Monday night and I've just got back from weight watchers and I can reveal that this week I've lost 6lb, thats now a total of 11lb lost in two weeks.

I also revived my first silver 7 award and for the first time in ages I can now say I weigh in 19 stone 11.

To say I'm pleased is an understatement and it's given me another drive forward,

That's it for now from a very happy Jon

Still going

Tonight I'll weight in again and I'm hoping that I'll be able to blog and tell you that I've been able to achieve my first silver seven award !

We have also invested in a exercise bike and we are trying to do 5 minutes a night, again little steps towards the final destination.

I have to say that I feel better since being on the diet and eating more healthy food and it just a case of not taking the idol option, taking the time to cook even when we have little time

Going to try and blog a little more this week on a few of the gadgets and books I've bought.

Balls to cancer

You might notice the balls to cancer logo that Kelly has put on here for me, if you click on the logo it will take you to the site. I was thinking about a sponsored slim but instead what I'll ask if you are following this blog maybe you could make a small donation to this fantastic small charity.

If your on twitter you can follow @ballstocancer this is a fantastic male cancer charity that I will try to do what I can to help out. On fathers day dad and myself are hoping to do the balls to cancer male race for life so I'll be keeping you posted on that via the blog too

Many thanks
Jon

A week on pro points

So it's been a complete week following weight watchers, my meeting is on a monday at 7pm and I was looking forward to the meeting this evening.

I booked in and headed for the scales stepped on and looked down and I'm sure you could see my smile from space, I've managed to lose a whole 5lb this week and boy do I feel good.

I honestly feel better for eating more healthy. And with the week we have had we could have cracked quiet easily and just grabbed a take away, which being honest we would have done in the past.

The weight loss has given me another push and drive to do well again. Although you have to weigh the food it's a simple plan to follow and I've not felt hungry or that I've been missing out.

I'll try to do a few more posts later this week till then I'll keep calm and carry on counting the points!!!!!

So full

So I've been following the weight watchers diet for a few days now and I thought I'd let you know how it was going.

Fruit in my lunch box is a must and for the first time I can remember I'm now probably having my 5 a day, these are also point free so I can eat as much as I want :-) .

I've not had sugar in my tea since Monday and although at first it was a struggle I've got used to it, apart from that first cup I have sweetener in, just can't face it otherwise lol.

The first big test was yesterday Kelly was going to be late home so with faiths swimming and running around it was going to be a late night, now before if things like this had happened I would have said we will have a take away but not tonight, I cooked so we ate when Kell got back, this I'm looking at a a milestone it could have been so easy to drop back into old habits but we didn't.

I have to say I'm so proud of faith she even wants to eat more healthy which can only be a good thing.

So things are great so far I just hope I've lost some when I weigh in on Monday till then you'll find me counting the points

First weight watchers meeting

So last night was my first meeting at weight watches, As I've already said I'm going with mom so off we went to register.

First thing I noticed I was the only bloke in the room does this bother me... Not at all everyone is there for the same reason so it makes no difference

I was asked to weight in with Claire my leader and she would then sort out my pack and what points allowance a day I could have, that was the first of the nights surprises I'm now 20 stone 8 lb so I've lost 2 lb since last week the second surprise was my points.

I'm allowed 58 point a day with a treat allowance of 49 over the week, first question do I have to eat my full points allowance and Claire said she would like me to as this gives a gradual weight lost which is proved to help you keep your weight off. I honestly don't think I'll manage that but at least the way I look at it if I'm full on what I'm eating then it's a good thing.

Got to say I really enjoyed it although I was a little bit quieter than people who know me know I can be, we had a laugh and a joke and this suits me just fine I prefer it that way better to laugh yourself thin,in my book if you are enjoying what you do you'll continue to do it.
So this is it I can now say I'm on the diet that my body has needed for years as the old saying goes "today is the first day of the rest of my life"

I'll try to keep posting and I'll be grateful of any tips people want to give

For now here's to the new fitter more healthier me
